Begin with a visit to Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial, a monument to the men and women who lost their lives during the historic events of December 7, 1941. Also see the Punchbowl National Cemetery, Iolani Palace and the King Kamehameha Statue. This evening enjoy the festive Magic of Polynesia dinner show that includes incomparable illusions and some dazzling pyrotechnics. Today is yours to explore Honolulu at your leisure. Visit more historic sites or find a cozy spot to relax on Waikiki Beach. Waikiki is actually a string of beaches with calm waters for swimming and great for people watching. Today we fly to Kauai, “The Garden Isle.” The island encompasses roughly 550 square miles and is the oldest and most northerly of the Hawaiian Islands. Enjoy a relaxing scenic cruise on the Wailua River to visit the Fern Grotto, before continuing to our hotel. Breakfast and dinner
At ten miles long and more than 3,500 feet deep, Waimea Canyon was described by Mark Twain as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” Beyond its incredible grandeur, the ever-changing colors that dance along its peaks make this sight truly unforgettable. A morning flight takes us to “The Big Island” of Hawaii. Kona’s diverse characteristics include a beautiful stretch of bays and resorts along with the fishing village of Kailua-Kona. Today we drive to Volcanoes National Park, the Big Island’s most popular attraction. We’ll encounter the earth’s most primal forces, see the active volcano spewing plumes of steam into the atmosphere and look for molten rock from ongoing lava flows (subject to National Park Service Safety Advisories). This morning we fly to the island of Maui, “The Valley Isle,” where natural wonders will set your spirit free. En route to the hotel we visit lush Iao Valley where the famed “Battle of Kepaniwai” took place in 1790, now an enchanted and tranquil State Park. Breakfast
Today is yours to explore on your own or you may choose an optional excursion to Haleakala. Haleakala National Park encompasses more than 27,000 acres of the mountain of Haleakala, a massive volcano that is at the heart of Maui’s torso. The seven-mile-long crater is actually a valley created by erosion of wind and rain and home to the famous but endangered silver sword plant. The Observation Center located here provides a birds-eye view of the enormous crater and the surrounding area. Breakfast
Today is yours to do as you please. The hotel location allows easy access by shuttle to the historic town of Lahaina offering a wide variety of boutiques and cafes along the famous Front Street. This evening we enjoy a traditional luau complete with authentic food, music and dancing of the Hawaiian people. Breakfast and dinner
