Day One — Depart for New York State Depart today for Pennsylvania where a welcome dinner and overnight await. Dinner Day Two — Arcade & Attica Railroad Our adventure along New York’s Haunted History Trail begins at the Arcade and Attica Railroad for a ride through history. The journey from Arcade up to Currier’s Depot takes us through land that has changed little since the “Iron Horse” first ran through here in the 1880s. Later we arrive at our hotel. Tonight, dinner is at the Dresden Hotel. Breakfast and dinner Day Three — Seneca Lake Lunch Cruise and Haunted Miles Wine Cellars The day begins at Miles Wine Cellars. See the beautiful Greek rival mansion built in 1802, hear stories of slamming doors, footsteps and unexplained sounds while enjoying the locally grown wine. Then, we climb aboard the Stroller IV vintage motor vessel for a narrated cruise on Seneca Lake. Discover the beauty and charm of the 165-foot-high Hector Falls and the majestic cliffs of east shore with Native American paintings. Then we visit scenic Watkins Glen State Park with its 200-foot cliffs, numerous waterfalls and Cavern Cascade. Breakfast and lunch Day Four — New York’s Haunted History Trail Known as the “Guardian of the Northern Frontier” Fort Ontario has stood sentry on Lake Ontario since 1755. Over three centuries of military activity, hundreds of soldiers and civilians have perished here and paranormal activity has included apparitions, voices, strange lights and music. In Mexico Point State Park sits Casey’s Cottage. Here, we enjoy lunch and learn the haunted history of this former carriage house which was turned into an 11th-century manor house complete with many unique medieval features. At the Starr Clark Tin Shop and Museum, we hear the stories of the abolitionist tinsmith whose building was a well-known Underground Railroad site. The impressive Greek revival Erie Canal Museum stands as a monument to the importance of the Erie Canal, and is home to several ghosts including a pair of arguing men whom you may hear throughout these 150-year-old hallways. Dinner tonight is at the inviting Brae Loch Inn nestled beside Cazenovia Lake. Guests of this Scottish inn have reported a ghostly girl offering to show them to their room, and a man and woman walking through closets. Breakfast, lunch and dinner Day Five — Rolling Hills Asylum and Anchor Bar In the historic town of Palmyra, we visit the Wm. Phelps General Store, dubbed “the most haunted place in the Finger Lakes.” Strange noises, apparitions in photographs and sudden whispers have all occurred here. At the 23-room Palmyra Historical Museum, see exhibits which trace the region’s history from the Civil War to present day. In the afternoon we tour what has been named the second most haunted site in North America, the Rolling Hills Asylum. Originally a working farm, then the Genesee County Poor House, the asylum became home for the outcasts of society. Our walking tour brings us through rooms including the Barbershop, Card Playing Room, Chapel, Bakery and the Morgue. In the evening, we have dinner at a Buffalo institution, the Anchor Bar, home of the original buffalo wing. Breakfast and dinner Day Six — The Ghosts of Niagara The day begins with a visit to the Iron Island Museum, known for its lively paranormal activity. Built in 1883, this former church is haunted by many spirits, some which have been identified. Ghostly voices have been recorded along with pictures and video of the spirits which haunt the building. Then, we venture to Prospect Point for a prime view of Niagara Falls, followed by a visit to the Niagara Adventure Theater for a viewing of the film Niagara: Legends of Adventure. Later, take a thrilling boat ride to the foot of Niagara Falls on the iconic Maid of the Mist boat tour. Feel up-close the power and majesty of the Falls from this remarkable vantage point. Next, we take a ride to the top of the Observation Tower for a one-of-a-kind view of all three waterfalls. Enjoy free time in Niagara before coming to the historic Red Coach Inn for dinner. Modeled after the Bell Inn in Finedon, England, the Red Coach features beautiful views of the Upper Rapids, delicious cuisine and a history of ghostly activity.
